I’ve had other students revise their novels and go on to get a request for a full from an agent. I can’t guarantee how long it will take you to create your Novel Training Plan or to write your novel because it’s up to you to complete the program and implement what you learn.

13. Do I need to have my first draft already written beforehand?

No, not at all. But if you’ve already written your first draft, great! HOWEVER, Plot Like a Novelist will help you create your Novel Training Plan so you can finally finish your first draft.

14. Will I be required to write my novel in a month?

Absolutely not. When you implement the Marathon Method and create your Novel Training Plan, it will help you write your first draft - no matter how long it takes you. In Module 5, you'll learn The Champion's Approach to help you easily write your first draft in 6 months. If your novel is slated to be 35,000 words or even 90,000 words, writing your first draft in 6 months is extremely doable. But a month? Not so easy. So don't make that an unofficial requirement of yourself. It's a recipe for "overuse injury".
